CrashPlan (formerly Code42) is the recommended secure cloud backup solution for desktops and laptops at MIT. It allows for simple, self-service data restoration/migration and runs a continuous backup in the background.
Note: TSM is the recommended service for backing up servers.

Licensing
CrashPlan is available at no cost for academic and administrative use by current MIT faculty, staff, and students on both MIT-owned and personal computers meeting CrashPlan's system requirements.
